 Sporting Facilities

Sporting facilities in Cervantes are clustered around the Cervantes Country Club and Recreation Centre, opposite the Cervantes Pinnacles Motel in Aragon Street.

Australian Rules Football

Home of the Mighty Tiger Sharks, The oval is situated at the junction of Cervantes Road and Aragon Street (opposite the Service Station)Tiger Shark Park. Competition Football is played between April and September. Visitors and spectators always welcome. For further information, contact Dale Simmons  0447 137 867.          

 

Lawn Bowls

 Modern synthetic rink immediately adjacent to the Community Club, the season runs from around the end of September to the end of April each year. Club competition day is Wednesday, and scroungers is played Thursday afternoon. A corporate bowls competition runs from early November to February. Visitors are welcome to join in all competitions. Golf

A picturesque 18 hole sand green golf course is located immediately behind the Country Club building. Competition golf season begins late March, early April and continues until the end of October. Ladies day is Wednesday, Men’s, Sunday, with scroungers held every Thursday throughout the year. Visitors are welcome to play in all competitions, and at other times with payment of the appropriate green fees.  You can hire Clubs from the Pinnacles Caravan Park.

Volleyball

Situated at the Catalonia Foreshore Park.   Nets and Ball can be hired from Pinnacles Caravan Park.

Tennis

Behind the Cervantes Country Club. Keys to courts from Cervantes Pinnacles Motel.

Cricket

Junior Cricket started last year.

Turquoise Coast Surf Lifesaving Club

Just an update on progress with the Turquoise Coast Surf Lifesaving Club. The Steering Committee has been formed with Dan Oswald being elected Chairperson, Erin Giuffre as Secretary, Lily Strugnell as Treasurer, Chris Carey and David Henke as Publicity Officers. The rest of the steering committee is made up of Gemima Avery and Shannon Boyle. The Club Development Officer is also assisting the committee with the application process. 

The next steps are to get businesses from the area to support the club in principle and also with sponsorship. Setting up an ABN and Tax file number and getting the club incorporated then arranging probationary affiliation with Surf Lifesaving WA. Tony O' Gorman Club Development Officer Shire Dandaragan, Gingin, Coorow

The Central West Men's Shed is open for projects 10am each Tuesday - 12 Madrid Street, Cervantes. New members are very welcome. Contacts 0428 572 641 or 0466 726 409.
